Each year, Explore More SoCal introduces hundreds of high school and higher-education students to some of Southern California’s most iconic trails. What begins as a single day of hiking often sparks a deeper connection to overlanding, exploration, and stewardship. Education is the catalyst—opening the door to lifelong adventure and meaningful change.

In 2025, Mind Over Land expanded far beyond its original goals—serving over one hundred veterans through peer-led overland trips that restored confidence, community, and connection while caring for the public lands they traveled through.

The Overland Expo Foundation has awarded $2,175 to Tread Lightly! for their Glenwood Pedlar – Tank Hollow Rd. Appliance recovery and cleanup project.
